Guantanamo's Venceremos Newspaper– The singer-songwriter X Alfonso will present this Friday 13 in Guaso Theater, as part of the national tour that he begins in Guantanamo to promote his last record production Reverse and to interpret anthological themes written by him.
According to declarations made to the national press, Reverse is a disc made among friends and conceived as an art antidote. Alfonso said also that it is a fresh disc in which the letters and the melody have great importance.
The musical author of the movies Habana Blues adds that his album has an aesthetic similar to the film directed by the Spanish Benito de Zambrano, with whom he reached international fame when he received the Goya Award of the Spanish Film Academy to the Best Sound Track.
X Alfonso, musician, arranger, and video clips producer has entered in Cuban musical environment with a disrespectful, hard and anthropological musical and audiovisual poetry because it deals with aspects of Havana’s reality with the intention of highlighting the faces of current Cuba.
Reverse and the multimedia were presented last October during a concert in Yara movies in Cuba’s capital. One of the characteristics of the album is that the public can get it both free, one of the purpose of its production.
“Like me, the title of the disc is a return to many things. I come from a Havana’s group of the 90’s. In that epoch we worked with out thinking in the money. Both, the text and the music remind me that time. Reverse is a sort of rock of the 70’s, and the most important thing is the message of the CD. It talks about the hard times we live in the world, including Cuba; but above all it’s not a pessimist message, its like “open your eyes”, said the author of Civilization to the website Cubasí.
