International Peace Seminar to Condemn Foreign Military Bases Begins in Guantanamo

Guantanamo's Venceremos Newspaper–-A group of Cuba’s friends, coming from over 20 nations, participate in the 2nd Peace Seminar for the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases,  that begins today in the eastern city of Guantanamo.

The event is organized by the Cuban Peace Movement, with the purpose of condemning, once more, the interference of powerful nations in the sovereignty of other countries.

The participants will make a call for  world peace and condemn the imperialistic military invasion to Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq. The event extends to Caimanera municipality, where is located the illegal US Naval Base in Guantanamo, against the will of Cuban people.

Doctor of Philosophy Jules Dufour, president of the United Nations Association of Canada (UNA-C, Saguenay-Lac-Sainte-Jean branch) and member of the Universal Ambassador Peace Circle, pointed out that the United States has hundreds of military bases in different regions.
