Baracoa city has the privilege of being the first Cuban village founded by the Spanish in 1512. Its streets, its houses and its people live in an atmosphere of reality and legend.
La Rusa hotel is available for those people who want to meet the city.
The hotel is small (only ten rooms) but charming and intimate. It was constructed at the shore of the sea and the visitors receive the nice breeze of the ocean and the blue landscape of the waters.
Looking through the windows the guests delight with the natural landscape of a mountain of 575 meters known as El Yunque, for the similarity with a work horse.
From the hotel you can visit Duaba farm, where the abundant fruit trees create the perfect landscape to enjoy the Cuban food and enjoy the traditions of the countryside.
The name La Rusa comes after the hotel’s first owner, A Russian that moved and lived in to Baracoa after traveling for many countries and cities of the world, this is the same woman that inspired the famous novelist Alejo Carpentier in the book Consagracion de la Primavera.
